A change from making cards.  The ladies enjoyed decorating the wooden spoon and made a small card which had an embossed area on the bottom half and we used some paper from our scrap box for the top half.

This next card isnt a card made for craft2distract , A friend taught me how to add stitching to a card and this was the result,

It has become my favourite card and I will be teaching how to do the stitching.  Ive been able to download some templates and hope  to try them out soon before I show it to the ladies.
I'm not sure what collection the the paper is from I think its old stock but will be searching in the hope I find it,  The message typed on the bottom corner reads Live full the Life youve Imageined.  I love it

I no longer have this card. I used to go to a friend who took classes in her home and she taught me a lo about stamping and embossing.  She liked this card and so i gave it to her whem she was celebrating a special birthday.  It would have been a shame to keep such a card in a drawer for ever more when I could pass it on to someone I know appreciated it.

Thats all for now thanks for looking in.

After having gotten mothers day out the way we then focused on Easter.

Within our Easter class we made nice and simple small gifts. We made  Easter baskets and  filled them with little chicks and Cadburys Mini chocolate eggs. The card was shaped by putting it through the die cut machine. and added a circular card with  an image of an Easter bunny/ We used paper that looked like basket weave purchased at Resonate Arts House shop.and it looked great on the mini baskets. We made a further box that can hold a creme egg.  Yum !

Kristin's son couldn't wait to get tucked in to the chocolate goodies.

 Recycled Tin Can

Our next class was a project to recycle household waste to make an attractive gift parcel.

We used empty soup tin cans which had been opened using an opener that left the edges smooth and enabled us to re-use the lid to close the tin,  We used a selection of papers to cover the  inside and outside of the tin the added some embellishments.  It's at this point when I ask the members to finish off the project how they want to and they are given the freedom to use what ever embellishments they prefer to make each persons finished item individual to their own taste. To add to this lovely tin can we made matching gift bags and card. This would've made a lovely mothers day present as it was around then we made the matching set. Everyone in the class used different embellishments to enhance and compliment the pattern that was on their chosen paper.

We will be repeating this project later but decorate suitable for Christmas gift.
